First year production known as a ‘Flat Nose’ classic 900. There were only 400 of these cars made in 1986. They are the brainchild of former Saab President Robert Sinclair. Saab Sweden told Sinclair he could take 600 two-door 900’s in any configuration he wanted. A few days later, Sinclair requested a convertible. After the Swedes picked themselves up off the floor from fainting, they decided to make them and the rest is history.
